Today Is Women's Day

In the United States alone, four women die every day due to domestic violence. The world over, at least one in every three women has been physically and sexually abused during her lifetime. Even today, women face abuse and discrimination at the workplace. Pregnant women and physically challenged women are not spared either.

Women's Day is celebrated as a mark of respect for all women who have risen above these challenges. In a predominantly patriarchal world, a woman finds it difficult to get a foothold. Despite the odds, women somehow rise above the ordinary. Women like Susan B Anthony, Helen Keller, and Mother Teresa led exemplary lives. The list goes on.
