Elizabeth Barrett Browning is one of the most well known poets. She started writing at the young age of twelve. Later, she fell in love with poet Robert Browning. Though she suffered from a disease that rendered her an invalid, she did not give up composing poetry. She is still lauded as a socially active and spiritually inclined distinguished poet of the Victorian era.
