What to Do Post Retirement

Those who are used to the daily grind will find retirement a punishing exile. Office fits well into the everyday routine, and life somehow revolved around work. After retirement, many people are unable to cope with the sudden void. The "free time" is not easy to while away, and leisure becomes a chore. So how do you deal with retirement?

Retirement is merely a phase of life. Retirement does not mean banishment to the outer world. If you plan for your retirement, you will look forward to the change of activity. Even after you retire from your workplace, you can continue working. Consider taking up teaching assignments or coaching for hobbies that you are good at. If you are good at financial management, become an investor. Join yoga classes or volunteer at the local church.

Post retirement, former President George W. Bush chose to enjoy a life of leisure in Texas with his wife Laura Bush. He prefers to enjoy his solitude. On the other hand, 42nd President Bill Clinton prefers to lead an active public life and participate in political affairs. He assists his wife Hillary Clinton in campaigning for the Democrats.

You are the master of your destiny. Make a comfortable plan and enjoy the bliss of retirement.

Sounds like a great problem to have, doesn’t it? (ie. what to do with time during retirement)
