Say Ho! Ho! Ho! With Santa Claus Quotes

By

Whoever invented the idea of a heavy-set old man, with flowing white beard, coming down a chimney with a bag of goodies, must have had a riot of imagination. Or maybe Santa Claus is a real person. I do not know. But every year, I hang up my stockings so that Santa Claus brings me goodies from the North Pole. Here are some Santa Claus quotes to add a dash of fun to Christmas.
  • Clement C. Moore
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
    Not a creature was stirring not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

  • Bart Simpson
What's Santa's Little Helper doing to that dog? Looks like he's trying to jump over, but he can't quite make it.

  • Victor Borge
Santa Claus has the right idea -- visit people only once a year.

  • Dick Gregory
I never believed in Santa Claus because I knew no white dude would come into my neighborhood after dark.

  • Richard Lamm
Christmas is a time when kids tell Santa what they want and adults pay for it. Deficits are when adults tell the government what they want and their kids pay for it.

  • Herbert Hoover
A good many things go around in the dark besides Santa Claus.

  • Henry Louis Mencken
God is a Republican, and Santa Claus is a Democrat.

  • Patti Smith
Everyone thinks of God as a man -- you can't help it -- Santa Claus was a man, therefore God has to be a man.

  • Clement C. Moore
His eyes -- how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
and the beard on his chin was as white as the snow.

  • Francis P. Church
Alas! How dreary would be the world if there was no Santa Claus! There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence.

  • Edwin Osgood Grover
Santa Claus is anyone who loves another and seeks to make them happy; who gives himself by thought or word or deed in every gift that he bestows.

  • Paul M. Ell
They err who thinks Santa Claus comes down through the chimney; he really enters through the heart.
