Make Your Halloween Celebrations Unique: Quotes About Halloween

By , About.com Guide

Though Halloween is a popular celebration in America, it is widely followed in many other parts of the world too. Each country follows different traditions and customs, thereby adding to the mystery and magic of the celebration.

As in America, Halloween in Ireland is dazzling with spectacular fireworks, bonfires, eerie-looking lanterns, carved pumpkins, and ghostly costumes. People pray for the soul of the departed. At night, the Irish leave food and drink out, for the spirits.

In China, Halloween is known as the Ghost Festival. Though the dates of Halloween and the Ghost festival may not coincide, the two festivals share many similarities. Family members pray for the peace of the deceased. They also make material offerings to the spirits of the dead.

Some people take beliefs related to Halloween quite seriously. For example, the Irish believe that black cats bring bad luck, and the four-leaf clover brings good luck.

How do you celebrate Halloween? Do you take the traditional approach or go off the beaten track? Create some beautiful Halloween cards with these unique quotes about Halloween.
