As the third President of USA, and creator of the Declaration of American Independence, Jefferson played a pivotal role in shaping America. Even today, many of his principles and policies bear the foundations of American democracy. He was a man of great foresight and tremendous ambition. As a political philosopher Jefferson was instrumental in setting new standards for a democratic setup.
